Dr. Faraneh Shamserad earned her PhD in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. Her research interests lie at the intersection of immigration, punishment, and moral panics, driven by a passion to understand the determinants and consequences of disproportionate societal fears. She is currently an Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) Postdoctoral Fellow at the National Science Foundation’s National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics (NSF NCSES).
